Regular Season Round 8: Prometey - Cluj Napoca 105-82

Everything could happen in Kamianske at the game between two tied teams. Both eighth ranked Ukrainian Prometey and 7th ranked Romanian Cluj Napoca had identical 3-4 record. This time Prometey used a home court advantage and rolled over the opponent from Cluj Napoca 105-82 on Wednesday night. Prometey made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Prometey looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was American forward DJ Kennedy (198-1989, college: St.John's) who scored 23 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. Czech center Ondrej Balvin (217-1992, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 23 points and 6 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!). American-Romanian point guard Patrick Richard (193-1990, college: McNeese St., agency: Inception Sports) produced 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Brazilian Leonardo Meindl (201-1993) added 17 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Five Prometey and four Cluj Napoca players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Prometey (4-4) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Defending Romanian champion Cluj Napoca dropped to the eighth position with five games lost. They share it with Brescia and Hamburg. Prometey will meet league's second-placed Venezia on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cluj Napoca will play against ratiopharm Ulm (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
