Very expected game when 9th ranked Romanian Cluj Napoca (3-7) lost at home to first ranked French JL Bourg (7-3) 88-79 on Wednesday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when JL Bourg made 7 blocks. American point guard Jordan Floyd (188-1997, college: King) notched 16 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and Canadian forward Isiaha Mike (203-1997, college: SMU) supported him with 14 points and 6 rebounds. JL Bourg's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 23 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists (made all of his seven free throws) by American-Romanian point guard Patrick Richard (193-1990, college: McNeese St., agency: Inception Sports) did not help to save the game for Cluj Napoca. Brazilian Leonardo Meindl (201-1993) added 17 points and 8 rebounds for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. JL Bourg maintains first position with 7-3 record, which they share with Turk Telekom and Paris. Cluj Napoca lost third consecutive game. Defending Romanian champion dropped to the eighth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Hamburg. JL Bourg will meet at home league's second-placed Venezia in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cluj Napoca will play against Cedevita Ol.
