There was no surprise in Las Palmas where 6th ranked Greek Promitheas (6-5) were outplayed by first ranked Spanish Gran Canaria (9-2) 91-72 on Wednesday. Gran Canaria made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was French power forward Damien Inglis (204-1995, agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 18 points. Miquel Salvo (205-1994) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Gran Canaria players scored in double figures. American point guard Anthony Cowan Jr (183-1997, college: Maryland) produced 12 points and 5 assists and Lithuanian Arnoldas Kulboka (208-1998) added 13 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Gran Canaria have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-2 record.
