Regular Season Round 12: H.Tel-Aviv - Turk Telekom 84-82

A very close game took place in Tel Aviv between Israeli Hapoel Tel-Aviv and Turkish Turk Telekom. Third ranked Hapoel Tel-Aviv (8-4) got a very close home victory over second-best Turk Telekom (8-4). Hapoel Tel-Aviv managed to escape with a 2-point win 84-82 in the game for the first place. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Hapoel Tel-Aviv dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Turk Telekom's 26. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Xavier Munford (193-1992, college: URI) who helped to win the game recording 33 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and French-American forward Jaylen Hoard (203-1999, college: Wake Forest) who added 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) during the contest. The best for the losing side was American guard Jerian Grant (196-1992, college: Notre Dame) with 24 points and 4 assists and French forward Axel Bouteille (201-1995, agency: BeoBasket) scored 27 points. Hapoel Tel-Aviv have an impressive five-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Turk Telekom. Hapoel Tel-Aviv will meet Trento (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Turk Telekom will play against WKS Slask (#10) and hope to secure a win.
