Seventh-ranked British Lions (5-7) made lots of trouble for first ranked Spanish Gran Canaria (10-2) in London. The visitors from Las Palmas managed to secure only three-point victory 60-57. However their fans expected much easier game. It was a good game for American-Lithuanian John Shurna (204-1990, college: Northwestern) who led his team to a victory with 13 points. Polish-American AJ Slaughter (191-1987, college: WKU) contributed with 10 points for the winners. Gran Canaria's coach used entire bench in such tough game. Greek-American center Kostas Koufos (213-1989, college: Ohio St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds and American forward Sam Dekker (204-1994, college: Wisconsin) added 18 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Lions. Gran Canaria have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 10-2 record. Lions at the other side keep the seventh place with seven games lost. They share the position with Lietkabelis and Brescia. Gran Canaria will play against Paris (#3) at home in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lions will play against Buducnost (#6) in Podgorica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
