There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Slovenian Cedevita Ol. (3-10) beat higher ranked Italian Venezia (7-6) in Ljubljana 77-73 on Wednesday. American point guard Yogi Ferrell (183-1993, college: Indiana) nailed 20 points and 7 assists for the winning side and center Alen Omic (216-1992, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 8 points and 19 rebounds. Four Cedevita Ol. players scored in double figures. Uruguayan-Italian guard Jayson Granger (188-1989) came up with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Mitchell Watt (208-1989, college: Buffalo, agency: Octagon Europe) added 12 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Venezia in the defeat. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Defending Slovenian champion maintains tenth place with 3-10 record. Loser Venezia keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Cedevita Ol. will meet league's leader Prometey in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Venezia will play against Lietkabelis (#7) in Panevezys and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
