Regular Season Round 14: Promitheas - Slask 90-66

Not a big story in a game in Patras where 10th ranked Polish WKS Slask (1-13) was rolled over by fourth ranked Greek Promitheas (9-5) 90-66 on Wednesday. Promitheas looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was American guard Joe Thomasson (193-1993, college: Wright St., agency: Octagon Europe) who scored 20 points and 4 assists. Puerto Rican center George Conditt IV (208-2000, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four Promitheas players scored in double figures. Power forward Aleksander Dziewa (205-1997) produced 19 points and power forward Szymon Tomczak (201-1998) added 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Promitheas have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Joventut and Paris. WKS Slask lost fifth consecutive game. Defending Polish champion keeps the tenth position with 13 games lost. Promitheas will meet league's second-placed Turk Telekom in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. WKS Slask will play against Lions (#7) and hope to win that game.
