Regular Season Round 15: Turk Telekom - Promitheas 85-75
Date: March 7, 2023
Not a big story in a game in Ankara where 4th placed Greek Promitheas (9-6) were defeated by second ranked Turkish Turk Telekom (11-4) 85-75 on Tuesday. Turk Telekom dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Promitheas' 30. It was a great evening for French forward Axel Bouteille (201-1995, agency: BeoBasket) who led his team to a victory scoring 21 points and 7 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). American guard Jerian Grant (196-1992, college: Notre Dame) helped adding 19 points and 6 assists. Turk Telekom's coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Anthony Cowan Jr (183-1997, college: Maryland) with 19 points and 6 assists and Lithuanian Arnoldas Kulboka (208-1998) scored 23 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Turk Telekom have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Prometey. Loser Promitheas keep the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Buducnost and Paris. Turk Telekom will meet league's leader Gran Canaria in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Promitheas will play against Lions in London and hope to secure a win.
