Not a big story in a game when 5th ranked Italian Venezia (9-8) was defeated at home by second ranked Spanish Joventut (12-5) 80-74 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was Dominican Andres Feliz (188-1997, college: Illinois) who scored 13 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Croatian center Ante Tomic (217-1987, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. American center Mitchell Watt (208-1989, college: Buffalo, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 20 points and 8 rebounds and Uruguayan-Italian guard Jayson Granger (188-1989) added 10 points and 5 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Joventut. They maintain second place with 12-5 record behind leader Gran Canaria, which they share with H.Tel-Aviv and Turk Telekom. Loser Venezia keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with Buducnost. Joventut will meet at home Lietkabelis (#4) in the next round. Venezia will play against the league's leader Prometey in Kamianske and hope to secure a win.
