British Gladiators smashed Portuguese Benfica in Edinburgh 73-52. They outrebounded Benfica 40-25 including 32 on the defensive glass. Gladiators players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Mali point guard Djeneba NDiaye (175-1997) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points. Spanish swingman Ariadna Pujol (185-1995, college: S.Florida) contributed with 9 points and 7 assists for the winners. Gladiators' coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American guard Keilanei Cooper (175, college: UC Riverside, agency: ThePlayersPick) replied with 18 points and center Carolina Cruz (190-2001, college: Manhattan) added 7 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Benfica. Benfica will play next round against strong E.Ramla trying to get back on the winning streak. Gladiators will try to continue on its current victory against Namur at home.
