There was a small surprise when fourth ranked SwissFribourg (2-3) beat at home leader Polish Gdynia (3-2) 93-89 on Thursday. It may be a crucial game in the contest for the top position in the league. Fribourg shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 66.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. American guard Qadashah Hoppie (170-1999, college: Texas A&M) nailed 24 points and 6 assists for the winning side and Ukrainian center Miriam Uro-Nilie (188-1994, agency: LBM Management) accounted for 25 points and 4 assists (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field). American guard Rennia Davis (188-1999, college: Tennessee) came up with 25 points and 6 rebounds and Lithuanian power forward Laura Miskiniene-Svaryte (190-1992) added 11 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for Gdynia in the defeat. Four Fribourg and five Gdynia players scored in double figures. Gdynia's coach tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Swiss champion moved-up to second place, which they share with 10 other teams. Loser Gdynia still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with 9 other teams.
