Regular Season Round 13: Bourg - Gran Canaria 92-84

Third defeat of league's leader SpanishGran Canaria (10-3) against second ranked French JL Bourg (11-2) 92-84 was the most important game of the last round. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Bourg outrebounded Gran Canaria 44-32 including a 35-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Bourg looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian forward Isiaha Mike (202-1997, college: SMU) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds. Center Bodian Massa (207-1997) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Polish-American A.J. Slaughter (191-1987, college: WKU) answered with 23 points and 6 rebounds and American power forward Ethan Happ (208-1996, college: Wisconsin) added 8 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals in the effort for Gran Canaria. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. JL Bourg have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader. Gran Canaria lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the second place with three games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Bourg.
