Regular Season Round 3: Besiktas - H.Tel-Aviv 87-101

An interesting game was played in Istanbul where IsraeliH.Tel-Aviv (#7) beat host Turkish Besiktas (#5) 101-87 on Tuesday evening. Hapoel Tel-Aviv dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Besiktas ' 44 and made 32-of-38 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game, while Besiktas only scored sixteen points from the stripe. It was a great evening for American center Johnathan Motley (207-1995, college: Baylor) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). His fellow American import point guard Patrick Beverley (185-1988, college: Arkansas) helped adding 16 points and 11 rebounds (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Hapoel Tel-Aviv's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was American forward Dustin Sleva (203-1995, college: Shippensburg, agency: Octagon Europe) with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Montenegrin-American point guard Derek Needham (180-1990, college: Fairfield) scored 17 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures.
