The Regular Season in Euroleague just started. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

First defeat of league's leader Greek Athinaikos against Lithuanian Kibirkstis 103-65 was the most important game of the last round. Kibirkstis dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Athinaikos' 28. They outrebounded Athinaikos 41-22 including a 31-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kibirkstis shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 54.5 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of French Zoe Wadoux (178-2001) who helped to win the game recording 11 points, 9 rebounds and 9 assists. American guard Nausia Woolfolk (175-1998, college: FSU) contributed with 20 points and 4 assists for the winners. Belgian point guard Julie Vanloo (173-1993) answered with 14 points and 7 assists for Athinaikos. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
Serbian Crvena zvezda smashed Belgian Kangoeroes in Belgrade 89-56. Greek power forward Artemis Spanou (186-1993, college: RMU) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and Destanni Henderson chipped in 18 points. At the losing side point guard Hind Ben-Abdelkader (172-1995, college: California) responded with 18 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Polish Lublin in Istanbul on Wednesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Turkish Emlak 85-61. Stephanie Mavunga nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Cate Reese came up with 16 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for Lublin in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.

Other games in round 1 were not that significant. Rapid lost to Charleville-M. on the road 66-98. USK Praha destroyed Bourges on its own court 76-55. Landes lost to Zaragoza in a road game 75-76. Valencia lost to Turkish defending champion Fenerbahce at home 69-88. Schio defeated Galatasaray on the opponent's court 84-66.
