They extended the margin at 14-point mark at the big break. Germany unloaded 49 points in the second half and rallied to the trophy. Keenan Garner (195-SF-2006) and Declan Duru (202-F-2007) stepped up with 16 points apiece for the champions. Belgium recorded a 40-27 halftime lead. Belgium drained 41 points in the second half and raced to the win. Terence Kekenbosch (189-G-2007) provided 18 points for Belgium. Aleksandar Gavalyugov (185-G-2006) hauled in 17 points for Bulgaria. 5-6 PlaceIceland - Bosnia 96-91Iceland finished fifth in Sofia as they held off Bosnia. Birkir Eythorsson (2006) stepped up with 34 points to lead the charge. Iceland eked out a 51-50 halftime lead. They poured in 45 points in the second half to rally to the victory. Andrej Acimovic (206-C-2006) had 24 points and 9 boards for Bosnia. 7-8 PlaceSweden - Austria 91-71Sweden breezed past Austria to capture the seventh place. Sweden jumped off to a 31-16 lead ten minutes into the game. They followed with a strong 24-8 run in the third period to build an unassailable lead. Julius Price (189-G-2006) came up with 18 points, while Samuel Obenjo (197-C-2006) added 17 points for the winners. Nico Zeleznik (195-G-2006) answered with 29 points for Austria. 9-10 PlacePortugal - United Kingdom 82-52Portugal knocked down United Kingdom to clinch the 9th overall position. Portugal dominated from start to finish. They established a 48-32 halftime lead. They held United Kingdom to just 20 points in the second half and cruised to the victory. Nathan Noronha (183-PG-2006) tallied 17 points for Portugal. Jhonathan Andrade (184-PG-2006) had 16 points for the winners. Derelle Desire (185-F-2006) answered with 16 points for United Kingdom. 11-12 PlaceSwitzerland - Georgia 84-71Switzerland held off Georgia to earn the 11th position. Switzerland eked out a 44-45 halftime lead. They held Georgia to only 28 points in the second half to march to the victory. Andrin Njock (195-F-2006) stepped up with 22 points and 9 rebounds, while Matteo DaSilva (175-G-2006) added 18 points for the winners. Avtandil Bakhtadze (204-F/C-2007) answered with 18 points for Georgia. 13-14 PlaceHungary - Ukraine 82-79Hungary held off Ukraine to clinch the 13th overall position. Hungary opened a 29-21 lead after ten minutes. Ukraine however erased the deficit and surged ahead for a 67-58 lead at the final break. Hungary replied with a 24-12 rally in the fourth term to secure the win. Kolos Kekesi (2006) chipped in 20 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 6 steals for the winners. Desmond Yiamu (201-C-2006) answered with 20 points and 11 rebounds for Ukraine. 15-16 PlaceRomania - Czech Republic 83-75 OTRomania outlasted Czech Republic in overtime to earn the 15th place. Czech Republic led by four points at halftime. But Romania used a 14-9 run in the third term to surge ahead. Czech Republic managed to force overtime but Romania sank 12 points in the extra period to snatch the win. Denis Badalau (202-SF-2006) and Luca Illes (188-PG-2007) posted 19 points each for Romania. Viktor Ivanek (195-G-2006) answered with 20 points for Czech Republic. 17-18 PlaceEstonia - Norway 64-66 OTNorway outscored Estonia in overtime to claim the 17th place. The teams traded baskets throughout the entire game going neck and neck. Norway however limited their opponents to just 2 points in overtime to snatch the win. Oscar Hellebust (206-C-2006) produced 26 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Kaspar Laik (194-F-2006) replied with 12 points for Estonia. 19-20 PlaceLuxembourg - Slovakia 60-88Slovakia cruised past Luxembourg to finish 19th in Sofia. Slovakia opened a 53-31 halftime lead. They held Luxembourg to just 10 points in the fourth period and raced to the victory. Martin Pospisil (195-SF-2006) produced 23 points, 22 rebounds and 8 assists for Slovakia. Tobias Obel (190-F-2006) notched 13 points for Luxembourg. 21-22 PlaceCyprus - Ireland 55-75Ireland stormed past Cyprus to secure the 21st position in the ladder. Ireland piled up a 37-30 halftime advantage. Ireland limited Cyprus to just 25 points in the second half and eased to the victory. Fortune Igbokwe (198-F-2006) notched 17 points in the win.
