Croatia celebrate title in Novi Sad - Aug 18, 2018

Croatia - Spain 71-70
Roko Prkacin (207-C-02) hit a jumper with 5 seconds remaining in regulation to propel Croatia to the European Championship title as they nipped Spain in the Final. Croatia led throughout the first half. They accumulated a 37:29 halftime lead. Spain however slowed their opponents down in the third term. They pulled within 3 points at the final break. Spain surged ahead in the final period. But Roko Prkacin stepped up for Croatia in the final seconds and carried Croatia to the first title since 2011. Boris Tisma (203-F-02) scored 24 points, while Roko Prkacin added 18 points and 10 rebounds for the champions. Hector Alderete (205-G/F-02) answered with 17 points for Spain.
3-4 Place
France - Turkey 59-82
Turkey stepped onto the pedestal in Novi Sad. They fired past France to earn Bronze medals. Turkey posted a 28:19 halftime lead. Turkey unleashed 54 points in the second half to coast to the win. Tibet Gorener (203-SF-02) scored 32 points, while Alperen Sengun (205-F/C-02) added 17 points and 10 rebounds for Turkey. Juhann Begarin (191-G-02) scored 25 points for les Bleues.

5-6 Place
Serbia - Greece 81-68
Filip Skobalj (201-F-02) scored 18 points to lead Serbia past Greece in the battle for the fifth place. Serbia posted a 44:32 halftime lead. The hosts extended the margin at 17-point mark in the third term and rallied to the victory. Anagnostis Papasavoglou (195-G-02) scored 14 points for Greece.

7-8 Place
Lithuania - Latvia 82-61
Lithuania outscored Latvia to claim the 7th place. Lithuania led by 4 points at the big break. They used a 21:13 run in the third term to boost the gap and raced to the victory in the final period. Edgaras Preibys (199-F-02) notched 16 points and 9 rebounds, while Azuolas Tubelis (201-SF-02) ahd 14 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. 9-10 Place
Germany - Israel 77-73
Germany nipped Israel to earn the 9th position in Novi Sad. Luc Van Slooten (203-G-02) tallied 17 points, 10 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals for the German team. Israel led by six points at halftime 43:36. But Germany sank 25 points in the fourth period and eked out a narrow win at the end. Lennart Weber (199-F-02) had 16 points for the winners. Noam Dovrat (195-G-02) had 19 points for Israel.

11-12 Place
Italy - Estonia 70-77
Estonia registered the 11th position at the tournament. They beat Italy in the final day. Hugo Toom (196-F-02) posted 15 points for the winners. Italy led by 8 points at the first break. But Estonia sank 43 points in the second half to race to the win. Markus Ilver (199-F-02) had 12 points for the winners. Matteo Spagnolo (191-G-03) and Sasha Grant (198-F-02) had 19 points each for Italy.

13-14 Place
Slovenia - Montenegro 80-71
Slovenia edged Montenegro to remain in Division A. Luka Tekavcic (204-F-02) came up with 30 points and 8 rebounds to lead Slovenia to the crucial win. Montenegro led by two points at halftime 33:31. But Slovenia unloaded 49 points in the second half to race to the win. Alen Malovcic (198-SF-02) had 13 points and 14 rebounds in the victory. Fedor Zugic (196-G-03) replied with 15 points and 11 rebounds for Montenegro.

15-16 Place
Holland - Georgia 92-90
Netherlands finished the tournament with victory. They beat Georgia to earn the 15th position. Jediael Cordilia (200-PF-02) posted 19 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Netherlands recorded a 46:43 halftime lead. Georgia tied things up at 58 heading into the fourth frame. But Netherlands sank 24 points in the final period to snatch the win. Oshean Brathwaite contributed 14 points for the winners. Nikoloz Gaprindashvili (195-SF-02) and Aleksandre Merkviladze (204-F-02) notched 24 points each for Georgia.

Croatia advanced into the title game in Novi Sad. They beat France in the semifinal clash. Roko Prkacin (207-C-02) scored 21 points and grabbed 15 rebounds for the winners. Croatia piled up a 37:31 halftime lead. They went on a 17:12 run in the third term to boost the gap at 11-point mark. France narrowed the gap in the fourth term but Croatia hung on to snatch the win. Matej Bosnjak (200-C-02) added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Rudy Demahis-Ballou (187-G-02) and Moussa Diabate (207-PF-02) chipped in 9 points each for les Bleues.

Turkey - Spain 57-67
Spain reached the championship game in Novi Sad. They edged Turkey in the semifinal clash tonight. Hector Alderete (205-G/F-02) delivered 25 points for the winning side. Spain accumulated a 34:26 halftime lead. Spain stretched the margin at 13-point mark at the final intermission and protected the lead throughout the final frame. Usman Garuba (203-C-02) tossed in 14 points and collected 18 rebounds for Spain. Alperen Sengun (205-F/C-02) knocked down 12 points for Turkey.

Quarterfinals
Spain - Greece 61-41
Spain eased past Greece to advance into the semifinal stage in Novi Sad. Hector Alderete (205-G/F-02) scored 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds for the winners. Greece led by six points after ten minutes 18:12. But Spain adjusted defensively in the next quarters. They held Greece to just 23 points in the next thirty minutes and rallied to the victory. Usman Garuba (203-C-02) had 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Iosif Koloveros (185-G-02) answered with 10 points for Greece.

Serbia - France 71-78
France made it into the semis in Novi Sad. They tamed hosting Serbia in the quarterfinal clash tonight. Yvan Ouedraogo (201-C-02) scored 23 points and pulled down 15 rebounds for les Bleues. France grabbed a 41:30 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 14-point mark at the final intermission. Serbia unloaded 28 points in the fourth term but could not avert the defeat. Moussa Diabate (207-PF-02) had 16 points and 17 rebounds for the winners. Nikola Manojlovic answered with 28 points and 8 rebounds for Serbia.

Latvia - Turkey 63-92
Turkey edged Latvia to stay in the title hunt. Sarper Mutaf came up with 21 points to lead the winning team. Turkey dominated from start to finish. They claimed a 28:10 lead after the first period. Lithuania - Croatia 78-80
Croatia snatched a narrow win over Lithuania to reach the semifinal stage in Novi Sad. Boris Tisma (203-F-02) came up with 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort. Lithuania dropped 29 points in the first period to ensure a 3-point lead. But Croatia held their opponents to just 10 points in the third term to take a 5-point advantage. Lithuania - Montenegro 84-50
Lithuania cruised past Montenegro to take the first win at the tournament. Azuolas Tubelis (201-SF-02) scored 21 points to lead the Baltic team. Lithuania led by a single point at the interval 28:27. But Lithuania ignited a massive 56:23 run in the second half to storm to the win. Hubertas Pivoirous had 14 points for the winners. Stefan Jovovic (187-G-02) replied with 15 points for Montenegro.

Israel - Slovenia 78-63
Israel toppled Slovenia to secure the first win in Novi Sad. Noam Dovrat (195-G-02) had 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Slovenia led by five points ten minutes into the game. But Israel used a 48:33 rally in the next two periods to surge ahead. They held Slovenia to 14 points in the final stanza to secure the winning outcome. Amit Aharoni (185-PG-02) and Gilad Levy tossed in 15 points each for Israel. Alen Malovcic (198-SF-02) replied with 13 points and 7 rebounds for Slovenia.

Group B
Spain - Serbia 72-46
Spain crushed Serbia in the opener. Spain dominated from start to finish. They established a comfortable 46:21 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 33-pooint mark at the final break and coasted to the victory. Usman Garuba (203-C-02) notched 25 points and 16 rebounds in the win. Nikola Manojlovic responded with 10 points for Serbia.

Latvia - Holland 77-69
Latvia held off Netherlands to secure the first victory in Group B. Latvia posted a 37:33 halftime lead. They used a 24:17 rally in the third term to boost the gap 11-point mark and never looked back en route to the win. Rodijs Macoha (200-F-02) provided 19 points and 11 rebounds in the victory. Toms Skuja (184-PG-02) added 13 points in the win. Joryam Saizonou (186-PG-02) replied with 17 points for Netherlands.

Group C
Turkey - Croatia 75-70
Turkey held off Croatia in the opener. Alperen Sengun (205-F/C-02) and Tibet Gorener (203-SF-02) accounted for 20 points each in the win. Croatia snatched a 36:33 halftime lead. They extended the margin at 9-point mark at the final break. But Turkey turned the tables in the final period. They sparked a 25:11 rally in the fourth stanza to secure the winning outcome. Ivan Perasovic (197-SF-02) accounted for 21 points and 12 rebounds for Croatia.

Germany - Greece 68-69 OT
Greece nipped Germany in overtime to register the first win in Novi Sad. Andreas Kalogiros (200-PF-02) had 21 points and 19 rebounds for the winning side. Germany built a 32:22 halftime advantage. Greece however denied the deficit in the next two quarters and forced overtime. Greece sank 9 points in the extra period to roll to the win. Giorgos Fillios (195-G-02) had 9 points in the victory. Ariel Hukporti (211-PF-02) replied with 13 points and 10 rebounds for Germany.

Group D
France - Italy 78-50
France knocked down Italy to take the first win at the tournament. les Bleues secured an 18:11 lead after ten minutes. They ignited a 46:22 second half run to ice the victory. Juhann Begarin provided 18 points, while Daniel Batcho (203-PF-02) posted 15 points and 14 rebounds in the victory. Sasha Grant (198-F-02) answered with 19 points for Italy.

Estonia - Georgia 76-66
Estonia held off Georgia as Joonas Riismaa (195-F/G-02) scored 18 points. Estonia posted a 22:14 lead at the first break. They went on a 21:12 rally in the third term to accumulate a 16-point lead. They protected it well throughout the final term and rolled to the victory. Illimar Raiend (200-F-02) had 15 points for Estonia. Vladimer Tavakarashvili (200-F-02) replied with 17 points and 9 rebounds for Georgia.

Russia will play for Division B title as they edged Czech Republic in the semifinal clash. Aleksandr Maltsev (196-F-02) nailed 22 points and grabbed 7 rebounds for the winners. Russia accumulated a 42:35 halftime lead. They followed with a 19:11 rally in the third term to clear off for good. Anton Kardanakhishvili (197-F-02) provided 21 points in the victory. Richard Balint (181-G-02) answered with 14 points for Czech Republic.

FYR Macedonia - Bosnia 76-95
Bosnia fired past FYR Macedonia to advance into the Final. FYR Macedonia and Bosnia were tied at 50 heading into the second half. Bosnia went on a 26:14 run in the third term to clear off. They held FYR Macedonia to just 12 points in the fourth term to seal the win. Alem Huseinovic (02) scored 26 points for Bosnia. Denis Halilcevic (199-F-02) added 19 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Goce Petrushevski (200-F-02) replied with 18 points for FYR Macedonia.

Russia earned Division B title. They defeated Bosnia in the championship game tonight. Russia accumulated a 48:27 halftime lead. Bosnia cut the deficit in the second half but Russia hung on to earn the trophy. Aleksandr Maltsev (196-F-02) provided 20 points, while Aleksandr Evseev (203-F-02) added 16 points and 8 boards for the champions. Djordje Gobovic (202-F-02) delivered 16 points for Bosnia.

3-4 Place
FYR Macedonia - Czech Republic 84-66
FYR Macedonia secured Division A berth. They fired past Czech Republic to earn the third position in Sarajevo. FYR Macedonia posted a 39:35 halftime lead. They went out of the dressing room firing on all cylinders. FYR Macedonia sparked a 30:14 run to clear off for good. Marko Milovanovikj (192-SF-02) had 23 points and 14 rebounds, while Andrej Andonoski (200-C-02) added 15 points for the winners. Lukas Hrebik (186-F-02) answered with 22 points for Czech Republic.

5-6 Place
Iceland - Poland 78-84
Poland overcame Iceland to clinch the fifth place at the tournament. They dominated right from the start. Poland gained a 40:27 halftime lead. Iceland sank 33 points in the fourth period but could not avert the loss. Jakub Ulczynski (198-F-02) accounted for 16 points and 7 rebounds for Poland. Astthor Svalason (193-PG-02) replied with 18 points for Iceland.

7-8 Place
Romania - United Kingdom 76-80
Great Britain nipped Romania to finish seventh in Sarajevo. Great Britain and Romania were tied at 42 after twenty minutes. Great Britain however went on a 23:19 rally in the fourth stanza to snatch the win. Matthew Marsh (210-C-02) had 17 points, while Joshua Uduje (191-G-02) provided 14 points in the victory. Stefan Grasu (200-SF-03) had 16 points for Romania.

9-10 Place
Ukraine - Belgium 59-91
Belgium wrapped up their campaign with victory over Ukraine. Marlon Makwa (195-F-02) scored 20 points and collected 8 rebounds to lead the winners as occupied the 9th place. Belgium got to a strong start. They grabbed a 21:9 lead after ten minutes. Belgium unloaded 54 points in the second half to race to the win. Thijs De Ridder (198-F-03) had 18 points for the winners. Ruslan Ivashov (182-PG-02) and Oleksandr Kovliar (180-PG-02) answered with 12 points each for Ukraine.

11-12 Place
Denmark - Bulgaria 51-81
Bulgaria cruised past Denmark in the clash for the 11th place. Viktor Margaritov (182-PG-02) scored 14 points for the winners. Bulgaria grabbed a 44:22 halftime lead and never looked back en route to the win. Konstantin Kostadinov (202-F-03) had 13 points for the winners. Hungary - Switzerland 68-56
Hungary outscored Switzerland to earn the 17th place. The Swiss team established a 31:23 halftime lead. But Hungary used a 27:12 run in the third quarter to spur ahead. They finished the game on an 18:13 run to seal the win. Domonkos Karman (204-SF-02) scored 21 points, while Balasz Kass added 10 points in the victory. Nicolo Isotta (176-PG-03) had 12 points for Switzerland.

19-20 Place
Sweden - Slovakia 77-57
Sweden cruised past Slovakia in the final game in Sarajevo. The Scandinavian team used a 19:9 rally in the third term to gain an 18-point lead. They added 24 points in the fourth period to seal the win. Oliver Cupan (192-F-02) had 20 points, while Forsling Sebastian (209-C-02) added 16 points in the victory. Patrik Pazicky (190-SG-02) netted 15 points for Slovakia.

21-22 Place
Norway - Cyprus 58-59 OT
Cyprus eked out an overtime win over Norway to claim the 21st place. Aineas Jung (204-G/F-02) and Jojo Garcia (185-SG-02) produced 12 points each for the winners. Cyprus recorded a 17:5 lead after ten minutes. Norway pulled within 2 points at halftime. The seesaw action continued throughout the second half. The teams had to go through extra period to decide on the winner as Cyprus managed to snatch the win. Jonas Kessler (194-F-02) had 20 points and 17 rebounds for Norway.

23-24 Place
Kosovo - Luxembourg 74-69
Kosovo beat Luxembourg to earn the 23rd position. Albin Berisha (186-PG-02) accounted for 17 points and 12 rebounds for the winning side. Kosovo recorded a 25:15 lead after ten minutes. Luxembourg narrowed the gap in the next periods but came up short of win at the end. Don Poiloshka had 16 points for the winners. Jonathan Diederich (196-SF-03) posted 20 points for Luxembourg.

Quarterfinals
Russia - United Kingdom 78-70
Russia advanced into the semifinal stage in Sarajevo as they edged Great Britain today. Maxim Kuzemkin and Pavel Savkov (200-SG-02) posted 15 points each to lead the charge. Russia accumulated a 43:36 halftime lead. Russia went on a 19:11 run in the third term to take a 15-point advantage. Great Britain got within single digits in the fourth term but failed to succeed at the end. Anton Kard had 14 points and 8 assists for Russia. Cameron Hildreth (191-G-02) replied with 28 points for Great Britain.

Poland - Czech Republic 85-104
Czech Republic stunned Poland to make it into the semifinal stage. Ondrej Hanzlik (191-F-02) delivered 29 points, 10 rebounds and 9 steals for the winners. Poland trailed by a single point at halftime 44:45. But Czech Republic unloaded 32 points in the third period to take an 11-point advantage. They sank 27 points in the fourth quarter to ease to the victory. Filip Staniszewski (188-F-02) netted 20 points in the win. Filip Siewruk (202-SF-02) replied with 24 points and 10 rebounds for Poland.

Bosnia - Iceland 86-59
Bosnia cruised past Iceland in the quarterfinal clash. Alem Huseinovic (02) scored 18 points to lead the winners. Bosnia posted a 38:18 halftime lead. Iceland narrowed the gap at 16-point mark heading into the fourth term. But Bosnia unleashed 30 points in the fourth term to ice the win. Aleksa Gataric (186-PG-02) had 15 points in the victory. Magnus Ludviksson (202-C-02) responded with 10 points for Iceland.

Romania - FYR Macedonia 71-74
FYR Macedonia snatched a narrow win over Romania to seal their semifinal appearance. Marko Milovanovikj (192-SF-02) produced 21 points and 12 rebounds in the win. Portugal cut the distance at 3-point mark at the final break but Ireland limited their opponents to just 13 points in the fourth term to secure the win. Denmark finished the preliminary round with victory. They rallied past Slovakia for 2-3 record. Jonathan Klussmann (188-G-02) and Mads Hansen (192-G-02) scored 23 points each for the Scandinavian team. Denmark built a 49:44 halftime lead. They went on a 49:34 second half surge to ice the win. Cyprus - Iceland 78-88 OT
Iceland outlasted Cyprus in overtime to take 4-1 record in Group C. Hilmir Hallgrimsson (195-G-02) and Fridrik Jonsson (201-F-02) notched 11 points each for Iceland. They led by 8 points after ten minutes but Cyprus were able to deny the deficit. They forced overtime but Iceland sank 14 points in the extra period to snatch the win. Filippos Tigkas (181-PG-02) dropped 28 points for Cyprus.

Bulgaria - Hungary 75-66
Bulgaria held off Hungary for 3-2 record in Group C. Bulgaria built a 35:25 halftime lead. They sank 40 points in the second half to march to the win. Emil Stoilov (208-C-02) provided 25 points and 13 rebounds for Bulgaria. Gerzson Radics (192-F-02) netted 16 points for Hungary.

Belarus - Czech Republic 76-80
Czech Republic nipped Belarus for the fourth win in Sarajevo. Ondrej Hanzlik (191-F-02) tossed in 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in the victory. Czech Republic picked a 42:35 halftime lead. They sank 26 points in the third term to stretch the lead at 9-point mark and maintained the lead throughout the final period. Kristian Kocab (210-C-02) and Vojtech Kalny (202-C-02) netted 12 points each in the win. Uladzislau Bantsevich (196-SF-02) replied with 26 points for Belarus.

Ukraine - Kosovo 89-57
Ukraine finished preliminary round at 3-2 record following a comfortable win over Kosovo. Ukraine established a 38:27 halftime lead. They went on a 30:12 run in the third term to clear off for good. Division C. Andorra celebrate title in Serravalle - Jul 12, 2018

Andorra - Wales 84-49
Andorra celebrated Division C title. They rallied past Wales in the title game. Andorra used a 31:10 run in the first period to set the tone. They followed with a 15:9 rally in the second period to clear off for good. Oriol Betrian (182-PG-03) stepped up with 26 points to lead the champions. Marti Obiols (171-PG-02) added 21 points and 5 assists for Andorra. Mason Grady (193-C-02) answered with 13 points and 10 rebounds for Wales.

3rd Place
Austria - San Marino 65-43
Austria stepped onto the pedestal in Serravalle. They topped hosting San Marino to conquer the Bronze medals. Stefan Blazevic (197-F-02) nailed 18 points and collected 13 rebounds to lead the Austrian team. They eked out a narrow 25:20 halftime lead. Austria though ignited a 22:8 run in the fourth period to secure a comfortable win. Felix Angerbauer (180-PG-03) had 11 points for Austria. Francesco Palmieri answered with 24 points for San Marino.



Division C: Andorra and Wales are going into final - Jul 11, 2018

Group Semifinals
Austria - Andorra 81-86
Andorra managed to do what no team has done on this tournament, and that's to beat Austria who was undefeated so far. They won the game 86:81 and Andorra is advancing to Big Final. Miguel Marti (195-F/G-03) led Andorra with 16 points and 9 rebounds for total index of 30, and Sergi Serrato (171-PG-02) splashed 34 points and total index of 29. They combined 50 points for Andorra and Marti Obiols (171-PG-02) helped them with 16, that was enough for them to go into final where they will meet with Wales. In losing team of Austria Stefan Blazevic (197-F-02) scored 23 points with 11 rebounds and 7 assists.


Wales - San Marino 66-56
Wales is second finalist of European Championship U16 Division C. They outscored team of San Marino with 10 point margin. It was low-result game but Wales managed to leave this game as a winner. Luke Gordos (180-PG-02) scored 20 points, for total index of 28. He grabbed 4 rebounds and had 4 assists. His shooting for two points was spot-on as he splashed 7 out of 8 attempts into the basket. Panagiotis Karras (190-F-02) followed him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. In losing team of San Marino, Francesco Palmieri (168-SG-02) scored 20 points and had 5 assists.

Albania - Scotland 48-75
Scotland won easily against Albania 75:48 and they will fight battle for 5th place. Best in Scotland was Louis Sullivan (190-F-02) with 33 points and 12 rebounds. He is MVP of this game. Elian Memcaj (192-SG-02) scored 15 points and had 10 rebounds for losing side of Albania.

Malta - Azerbaijan 45-74
Four players combined 60 points in team of Azerbaijan, most efficient was Jabrayil Akbarov (190-SF-02) with 22 points and amazing 17 rebounds. Marko Milovanovic (02) scored 16 points.Matthew Scerri was best in Maltese side with 21 points and 17 rebounds.



Division C: Semi-finals are set in San Marino - Jul 9, 2018

Group A
Azerbaijan - Austria 41-51
Still undefeated in the tournament, Austria progressed and clinched the top spot in Group A with a 51-41 victory over Azerbaijan behind a 14-point and 9-rebound performance by power forward Lazar Gagic. This proved to be the toughest test yet for the Bernd Wimmer-coached Austrians, who had won their first three contest with an average margin of 30.7 points.

Albania - San Marino 55-73
Having come into the do-or-die clash against Albania needing to win by at least 15 points to secure a favorable position in a three-way tie, San Marino got the job done with a 73-55 victory in a breathtaking turn of events down the stretch in the fourth quarter. Edoardo Pasolini delivered a clutch performance for San Marino

Group B
Wales - Andorra 56-50
Wales wrapped up the Group Phase with a head-to-head clash that saw the fantastically-supported Welsh side come out on top 56-50 to secure pole position. Mason Grady stepped up for Wales with a 13-point, 19-rebound double-double, while the team's top scorer Panagiotis Karras also got into double figures with 10 points. Meanwhile, the trio of Sergi Serrato Balletbo, Oriol Betrian Pujol and Marti Obiols Puig scored 42 of the total 50 points for Andorra.

Gibraltar - Scotland 19-85
Scotland got their first win in Serravalle by steamrolling Gibraltar 85-19 to qualify for the Classification Games for 5-8 places

Division C: Day 4 in San Marino - Jul 8, 2018

Group A
San Marino - Moldova 60-47
San Marino recorded first victory (1-2), leaving Moldovan side without win in this tournament (0-4). Francesco Palmieri (168-SG-02) scored 28 points for San Marino helping them to achieve this victory. For losing side 12 points was added from Veaceslav Utin (188-SG-02) but that was not enough in this game for a win.

Austria - Albania 61-37
Stefan Blazevic (197-F-02) shined in easy win for Austria against Albania in fourth round of European U16 Championship. Stefan scored 20 points with 11 rebounds for his double-double game. Felix Angerbauer (180-PG-03) scored 16 points for Austrians while Elian Memcaj (192-SG-02) from Albania scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Xhersido Hajdari (207-C-02) had incredible 21 rebound for Albanian side in this game.

Group B
Scotland - Wales 58-65
Close game but Scotland left this game as defeated side and still seeking victory for this tournament. They are 0-3 for now while their neighbor Wales is 3-0. Panagiotis Karras (190-F-02) led Wales with 23 points and 9 rebounds, Luke Gordos (180-PG-02) joined him with double-double performance 16 points and 11 rebounds. In Scotland best was Louis Sullivan (190-F-02) with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist.

Andorra - Malta 75-61
From only three players Andorra combined 55 points which was more then enough to leave this on victory side. Sergi Serrato (171-PG-02) scored 19, same as Miguel Marti (195-F/G-03) but he added also 17 rebounds. Oriol Betrian (182-PG-03) scored 17 points. In losing team of Malta who are now at 2-2 record, best was Matthew Scerri (175-SG-02) with 16 points and 10 rebounds.


Division C: Day 2 in San Marino - Jul 5, 2018

Group A
Azerbaijan - Moldova 60-46
Azerbaijan needed the trio of Marko Milovanovic (02), Jabrayil Akbarov (190-SF-02) and Ramiz Guliyev (183-SF-02) to go the full 40 minutes against Moldova to keep their unbeaten record intact in Group A with a 60-46 victory.

Austria - San Marino 75-50
After having a bye day on Tuesday, one of the tournament favorites Austria joined the action in Group A by defeating San Marino 75-50 in the last game of the day on Wednesday. A 23-point and 12-rebound double-double by Stefan Blazevic (197-F-02) ensured a smooth start for the Austrians, who handed the tournament hosts their second defeat in a row.

Group B
Gibraltar - Malta 41-70
Malta bounced back from Tuesday's defeat to Wales by picking apart Gibraltar. A one-sided 70-41 contest was headlined by a 24-4 opening quarter in favor of the Maltese players and a 20-point and 10-rebound double-double by forward Matthew Scerri (175-SG-02).

Scotland - Andorra 69-70
Andorra turned in another winning performance in the FIBA U16 European Championship 2018, Division C and improved to a 2-0 record after getting the better of Scotland in a down-to-the-wire Group B contest in San Marino on Wednesday.

Division C: Day 3 in San Marino - Jul 5, 2018

Group A
Moldova - Austria 29-72
Austria followed suit and also moved to 2-0 with an even more impressive 72-29 thrashing of Moldova, despite connecting on just 5-of-20 attempts from the free-throw line. Having gone 7-of-10 from the field, Lazar Gagic (190-G-02) was the main star of the show with a game-high 14 points and 5 rebounds, but he too left some points on the stripe.

Albania - Azerbaijan 66-48
Xhersido Hajdari (207-C-02) and Albania stopped Azerbaijan's unbeaten run in the FIBA U16 European Championship 2018, Division C with a sturdy 66-48 victory in Group A action on Thursday evening in San Marino. The 16-year-old center Hajdari dominated the glass and left the court with a 14-point and 22-rebound double-double, as Albania improved to a 2-0 record in the standings. His teammate Ettore Marku (179-PG-02) shared the game's top-scorer honors with 14 points, while Azerbaijan's big trio of Marko Milovanovic (02), Ramiz Guliyev (183-SF-02) and Jabrayil Akbarov (190-SF-02) had relatively quiet performances.

Group B
Wales - Gibraltar 68-31
Panagiotis Karras (190-F-02) had a field day against Gibraltar in Group B, helping Wales to a 68-31 victory that moved their marker to 2-0. The Welsh forward made 7-of-9 attempts from the field and finished with an efficient 14-point and 8-rebound line on the score sheet, while teammate Kian Davis chipped in with 12 points in just under 16 minutes of action.

Malta - Scotland 60-56
Malta climbed to the top of the standings for the time being after edging Scotland 60-56 in the other game of the day. Matthew Scerri (175-SG-02) led the way for Malta with 23 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 steals, as Louis Sullivan (190-F-02) had team-highs of 12 points, 17 rebounds and 4 steals for Scotland.

Division C: Day 1 in San Marino - Jul 4, 2018

Group A
Moldova - Albania 43-52
In the opener of European Championship U16 Division C, Albania secured their first victory as they overcome National Team of Moldova 43:52. Last quarter was decider as Albania let only 5 points in their bucket and they scored 12. Xhersido Hajdari (207-C-02) scored 14 poitns, he also added 15 rebounds which gives him MVP Award for this game. In Moldova Riciard Calus (205-C-02) was also give us show as he scored 8 points and 13 rebounds.

San Marino - Azerbaijan 51-62
Azerbaijan record first victory of the tournament against San Marino. They won three out of four quarters in this game which was more then enough for +11 win and 1-0 record. Jabrayil Akbarov (190-SF-02) shined this game with his double-double performance with stunning 32 points and 14 rebounds, his teammate Marko Milovanovic (02) also had double-double game with 20 points and 17 rebounds. Amazing two roles in this game. In losing team Francesco Palmieri (168-SG-02) was close to double-double but he was stopped at 9 rebounds and 22 points. Head Coach of winning team Elshan Yusubov must be pleased with performance his guys put in, in opening game for them in this tournament.

Group B
Malta - Wales 60-71
Wales overcome Malta in Group B with 60:71 result. First two quarters finished tie and result on half time was 32:32 but then Wales push it to the limit with last quarter win 18:27. Luke Gordos (180-PG-02) almost recorded triple-double as he scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists, his teammate Solomon Walker (193-F-03) had 11 points and 11 rebounds for Wales. Best in Malta was Matthew Scerri (175-SG-02) with 21 points and 12 rebounds. Jack Zammit (176-PG-02) scored 9 points and grabbed 13 rebounds.

Andorra - Gibraltar 104-31
This was easy job for Andorra team, they won every quarter in this game against Gibraltar. Most efficient 10 minutes in this game was in first quarter when they won it with 33:4. Sergi Serrato (171-PG-02) scored 22 points with 6 rebounds in Andorra but MVP for this game is going in hands of Miguel Marti (195-F/G-03) scored 20 points with record of the tournament so far as he had 23 rebounds (!). He grabbed 11 offensive rebounds and all that for only 20 minutes on the court. In losing team Javier Guerra scored 5 points and secured 11 rebounds for himself and his team.
