Spain, France, Germany and Lithuania advance into semifinal stage

Spain - Finland 63-52
Spain outgunned Finland to advance into the semifinal stage in Greece. The teams went neck and neck throughout first three quarters. Spain led by just one point heading into the fourth frame. But they went on a 17-7 rally in the final stanza to snatch the win. Elena Buenavida (174-PG-2004) posted 23 points, while Carla Brito (180-F-2004) added 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winning side. Elina Aarnisalo (176-G-2005) answered with 14 points for Finland.

Italy - France 48-71
France rallied past Italy to secure the semifinal appearance. les Bleues recorded a 29-18 halftime advantage. They sank 42 points in the second half to march to the victory. Rosanne Le Seyec (195-C-2004) stepped up with 16 points, while Leila Lacan contributed 14 points for France. Eleonora Villa (172-G-2004, agency: Players Group) tossed in 13 points for Italy.

Poland - Germany 43-53
Germany prevailed against Poland in the quarterfinal clash. Germany held their opponents to just 16 points in the first half to take a 9-point lead. Germany poured in 28 points in the second half to race to the win. Greta Kroeger (182-G/F-2004) accounted for 13 points, while Frieda Buehner (184-F-2004) had 10 points and 13 rebounds in the win. Agata Makurat (188-SG-2004) replied with 11 points for Poland.

Czech Republic - Lithuania 81-87
Lithuania overcame Czech Republic to remain in the title race in Heraklion. The Baltic team posted a 24-17 lead after ten minutes. They erupted for 47 points in the second half and rallied to the victory. Juste Jocyte (187-SF-2005) notched 31 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds, while Neda Pliatkute (172-PG-2004) added 13 points for the winners. Dominika Paurova (183-F/C-2005) answered with 22 points and 15 rebounds for Czech Republic.
