Greece thumped Austria for the first win in Sofia. The teams were tied at 19 heading into the second half. But Greece followed with a 27-13 run in the second half to ice the victory. Panagiota Stoligka (173-SG-2006) scored 26 points for the Hellenes. Anna Alborova (183-G-2005) provided 13 points for Austria.
Estonia - Bulgaria 37-57
Bulgaria coasted past Estonia for the third consecutive win in Group D. Bulgaria opened a 32-25 halftime lead. They limited Estonia to just 12 points in the second half to race to the win. Gergana Madankova (177-G-2006) and Denitsa Manolova (172-G-2006) posted 14 points each for the hosts. Keandra Koorits (188-F-2005) chipped in 10 points for Estonia.
Holland - Croatia 42-61
Croatia overcame Netherlands for the second win in a row at the tournament. Croatia eked out a 26-22 halftime lead. But they went on a 15-3 run in the fourth stanza to seal a comfortable win. Zara Valcic (168-G-2006) produced 21 points and 8 rebounds for Croatia. Lois Vrolijk (2005) had 12 points for Netherlands.
Norway - Bosnia 49-61
Bosnia outscored Norway for 2-0 record in Group B. Bosnia recorded a 32-22 halftime lead. They held Norway to just 27 points in the second half to march to the win. Amila Smajic (190-C-2005) scored 10 points to lead the charge. Aurora Sorbye (168-G-2005) replied with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for Norway.
United Kingdom - Ireland 55-58
Ireland nipped Great Britain to improve at 2-0 record atop of Group B. It was a roller-coaster action from start to finish. Great Britain led by 7 points at halftime 25-18. But Ireland responded with a 25-11 run in the third term to surge ahead. Great Britain narrowed the deficit in the fourth stanza but could not avoid the loss. Grace Prenter (170-PG-2006) finished with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the Irish. Valerie Cassidy (163-G-2006) delivered 14 points for Great Britain.
North Macedonia - Iceland 59-77
Iceland clinched the third straight win in Sofia. They upset North Macedonia to remain perfect in Group A. Iceland posted a 45-31 halftime advantage. They followed with a 20-11 rally in the third term to clear off for good. Anna Magnusdottir (178-G/F-2006) provided 20 points, while Agnes Jonudottir (182-F-2005) had 15 points for Iceland. Milica Nikolikj (188-SF-2006) banked in 14 points and 7 rebounds for North Macedonia.
Slovakia - Sweden 68-49
Slovakia opened win count in Group D. They fired past Sweden for 1-2 record. Sweden led by two points at the first break. But Slovakia responded with a 36-20 second half run to seal the win. Anna Molnarova (180-PF-2005) stepped up with 25 points and 9 rebounds for Slovakia. Tiffany Barbosa (176-G-2005) answered with 19 points for Sweden.
Luxembourg - Romania 92-82 OT
Luxembourg held off Romania in overtime to post the second straight win. Romania enjoyed a massive 25-11 lead ten minutes into the game. But Luxembourg gradually erased the deficit and eventually sent the game into overtime. They sank 17 points in the extra period to seal the win. Faith Etute (183-F-2005) posted 40 points, 33 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the charge. Miky Panait (169-PG-2005) answered with 19 points for Romania.
