Not a big story in a game in Las Palmas where bottom-ranked PolishTrefl (0-9) was outplayed by second ranked Spanish Gran Canaria (7-2) 84-58 on Thursday. Gran Canaria looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. American swingman Caleb Homesley (198-1996, college: Liberty) stepped up and scored 20 points (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!) for the winners and Puerto Rican center George Conditt IV (208-2000, college: Iowa St.) chipped in 10 points and 6 rebounds. Gran Canaria's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was Belgian power forward Andy Van Vliet (213-1995, college: William & Mary) with 11 points and 6 rebounds and American-Polish center Geoffrey Groselle (213-1993, college: Creighton) scored 4 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Gran Canaria maintains second place with 7-2 record behind leader Valencia, which they share with H.Jerusalem. Loser Trefl still closes the standings with nine games lost.
