Regular Season Round 9: Cluj Napoca - Aris Midea 87-79

Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked RomanianCluj Napoca (5-3) won against at home 8th ranked Greek Aris Midea (2-7) 87-79 on Thursday. Cluj Napoca made 24-of-28 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. French Adam Mokoka (195-1998) stepped up and scored 24 points for the winners and American point guard Zavier Simpson (183-1997, college: Michigan) chipped in 14 points and 10 assists. Four Cluj Napoca players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Landers Nolley II (201-2000, college: Cincinnati) with 22 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals and point guard Vasileios Toliopoulos (188-1996) scored 19 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Romanian champion moved-up to third place. Aris Midea lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with seven games lost. They share it with Hamburg.
