There was no surprise when 4th ranked RomanianCluj Napoca (6-5) was crushed on the road by top-ranked Spanish Valencia (11-0) 108-80 on Wednesday. Valencia made 17-of-20 free shots (85.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Dominican guard Jean Montero (188-2003) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 5 assists and power forward Jaime Pradilla (202-2001) who added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. Four Valencia players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Zavier Simpson (183-1997, college: Michigan) with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and his fellow American import center DeShawn Stephens (203-1989, college: SDSU, agency: Slash Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Valencia have an impressive 11-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 11-0 record. Defending Romanian champion Cluj Napoca dropped to the fifth place with five games lost.
