There was a small surprise when seventh ranked ItalianUmana Venezia (6-6) edged on the road 5th ranked French JL Bourg (6-6) 102-99 on Wednesday. Venezia made 24-of-30 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. Venezia outrebounded Bourg 37-25 including 28 on the defensive glass. Venezia looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Canadian power forward Mfiondu Kabengele (207-1997, college: FSU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and Canadian power forward Kyle Wiltjer (207-1992, college: Gonzaga) who added 17 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was American Jordan Usher (201-1998, college: Georgia Tech) with 24 points and 4 steals and Belarusian Maksim Salash (208-1996, agency: Tolakh Tsimur) scored 21 points. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Venezia moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Bourg and Wolves.
