Important game to mention about took place in Valencia. Eighth ranked LithuanianLietkabelis (4-8) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging leader Spanish Valencia (11-2) 107-106 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. Lietkabelis made 25-of-29 charity shots (86.2 percent) during the game. Valencia was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Ukrainian point guard Oleksandr Kovliar (191-2002) stepped up and scored 25 points and 5 assists for the winners and swingman Martynas Varnas (196-1997) chipped in 21 points and 6 steals. At the losing side Xabier Lopez-Arostegui (200-1997) responded with 20 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) and Nigerian-American Semi Ojeleye (201-1994, college: SMU) scored 17 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Lietkabelis maintains eighth place with 4-8 record. Valencia at the other side still keeps top position with two games lost. They share it with Bahcesehir.
