Regular Season Round 14: Wolves - Trefl 74-97

There was a surprise result in Vilnius where tenth ranked PolishTrefl (1-13) smashed higher ranked Lithuanian Wolves (7-7) 97-74 on Wednesday. Trefl dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Wolves ' 28. Trefl looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The best player for the winners was Jaroslaw Zyskowski (203-1992) who scored 20 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Nick Johnson (191-1992, college: Arizona) chipped in 16 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. Four Trefl players scored in double figures. American point guard Anthony Cowan Jr (183-1997, college: Maryland) produced 17 points and 8 assists and center Marek Blazevic (209-2001) added 14 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) respectively for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Trefl maintains tenth position with 1-13 record. Loser Wolves keep the fifth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Bourg and Besiktas.
