A very close game took place in Istanbul between TurkishBesiktas and Lithuanian Wolves . Sixth ranked Besiktas (8-7) got a very close home victory over 5th ranked Wolves (7-8). Besiktas managed to escape with a 2-point win 79-77 in the game for the fifth place. Besiktas made 23-of-25 free shots (92.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American Jonah Mathews (191-1998, college: USC) who led his team to a victory scoring 27 points. Point guard Berk Ugurlu (192-1996) helped adding 20 points. The best for the losing side was American point guard Anthony Cowan Jr (183-1997, college: Maryland) with 22 points and 7 assists and center Marek Blazevic (209-2001) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Besiktas moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Venezia and Bourg. Loser Wolves dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Buducnost.
