Royal Braine used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Brno 80-72 on Wednesday night. American forward DeYona Gaston (188-2000, college: Auburn) stepped up and scored 23 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and her fellow American import center Quay Miller (190-2001, college: Colorado, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side Greek power forward Artemis Spanou (186-1993, college: RMU) responded with 11 points and 8 rebounds and American guard Nia Clouden (175-2000, college: Michigan St., agency: LBM Management) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds. Four Zabiny Brno players scored in double figures. Royal Braine will meet at home Campobasso in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Zabiny Brno will play against Tresnjevka and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
