Regular Season Round 8: Neptunas - Aris 87-93

Very significant was Greek Aris Midea's (#7)93-87 road victory against 8th ranked Lithuanian Neptunas . Aris Midea dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Neptunas ' 22. It was a great shooting night for Aris Midea especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. Neptunas were plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. The winners were led by French Amine Noua (202-1997) who scored that evening 24 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Bryce Jones (183-1994, college: Murray St.) supported him with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Aris Midea players scored in double figures. Even 26 points and 7 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) by Latvian guard Rihards Lomazs (189-1996) did not help to save the game for Neptunas . point guard Arnas Velicka (195-1999) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aris Midea (4-4) moved-up to fourth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Neptunas at the other side dropped to the sixth position with five games lost. They share it with 4 other teams.
