The biggest surprise of round 12 in Eurocup was Italian guestVenezia 's (6-6) easy road victory over Lithuanian Neptunas (#8) 118-103 on Friday evening. Umana Venezia shot 62.3 percent from the field. They shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 53.6 percentage. Umana Venezia looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. 30 personal fouls committed by Neptunas helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was Canadian power forward Kyle Wiltjer (207-1992, college: Gonzaga) who scored 28 points and 4 assists. American swingman Denzel Valentine (196-1993, college: Michigan St.) chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Latvian guard Rihards Lomazs (189-1996) who recorded 28 points and 5 assists and Donatas Tarolis (205-1994) added 21 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Five Umana Venezia and four Neptunas players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Venezia moved-up to fifth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Neptunas at the other side dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Ulm and London.
