The game had a very big importance for second-ranked TurkishBesiktas as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Besiktas smashed 3rd placed Montenegrin Buducnost in Istanbul 96-74 . Besiktas outrebounded Buducnost 45-24 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Besiktas looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Buducnost helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was point guard Berk Ugurlu (192-1996) who scored 12 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. American Anthony Brown (199-1992, college: Stanford) chipped in 11 points and 6 rebounds. Four Besiktas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American point guard Yogi Ferrell (183-1993, college: Indiana) who recorded 18 points (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!) and Serbian power forward Nikola Tanaskovic (204-1997) added 12 points respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Besiktas have a solid series of three victories in a row. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with Bourg. Defending Montenegrin champion Buducnost dropped to the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Manresa and Trento.
