Partizan earned their seventh ABA Liga title. They outgunned Crvena Zvezda in the decisive fifth game of the championship series to lift the trophy. The game was mostly controlled by Partizan. Crvena Zvezda managed to win third quarter 34-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-23 free shots (82.6 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Crvena Zvezda helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American-Serbian Kevin Punter (192-1993, college: Tennessee) stepped up and scored 32 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. He was named the Finals MVP.
