What a success for Studentski centar! In their first ever season in ABA League 2, the Podgorica side has won the championship title! Studentski centar have defeated Spars in the 2021 ABA League Finals and have therefore secured their place in the 2021/22 ABA League 1 season. On the other side, Spars will have one more chance to reach the ABA League 1 as they will play against Split in the Promotion/Relegation Playoffs. The winner of that best-of-3 series will qualify for the 2021/22 ABA League 1 season. After winning Game 1 by 99:89, Studentski centar made a great start in Game 2, taking an 8-point lead in the opening quarter 21:13. The Podgorica troops have had the lead throughout most of the game, but Spars then made a stunning 4th quarter comeback. The Sarajevo squad took over the lead in the last period as they went in front - 70:65, with 3 minutes remaining on the game clock! Spars even had a chance to increase that lead even more and try to reach the 10-point margin that they needed to annul Studentski centar's advantage from Game 1, however after Amar Gegi made a turnover, Studentski centar scored 6 consecutive points to seal the win on aggregate. Fletcher Magee (193-G-96, college: Wofford) posted 16 points to pace the champions. Bryon Allen (193-G-92, college: GMU) and Marko Tejic (209-C/F-95, agency: Interperformances) added 13 points each. Amar Gegic (200-PG-98, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with game-high 19 points for Spars.
