Regular Season Round 5: Partizan - Un.Olimpija 86-85

Tenth-ranked Slovenia Un.Olimpija (1-3) made lots of trouble for leader Serbian Partizan (5-0) in Beograd. Partizan managed to secure only one-point victory 86-85. However their fans expected much easier game. Partizan forced 24 Un.Olimpija turnovers. 28 personal fouls committed by Un.Olimpija helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. American point guard Wiliam Hatcher (188-84, college: Miami, OH) nailed 20 points and 4 assists for the winning side and forward Novica Velickovic (205-86, agency: BeoBasket) accounted for 13 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian Nikola Jankovic (207-94, agency: BeoBasket) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard Brandon Jefferson (175-91, college: Metro St.) added 18 points and 5 assists respectively for Un.Olimpija in the defeat. Five Un.Olimpija players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Partizan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Crvena Zvezda and Buducnost. Un.Olimpija at the other side keeps the tenth place with three games lost. Partizan's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Beograd to the arena FMP.
