Regular Season Round 18: Un.Olimpija - Partizan 74-68

The most important game in the last round took place in Ljubljana between second ranked Serbian Partizan (14-4) and seventh ranked Slovenian Un.Olimpija (8-10) on Sunday night. Partizan was defeated by Un.Olimpija in a tough game on the road 68-74. It ended at the same time the eight-game winning streak of Partizan. Partizan was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 28-15 charge of Un.Olimpija, which allowed them to win the game. 25 personal fouls committed by Partizan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for American Devin Oliver (204-92, college: Dayton) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. The other American import point guard Brandon Jefferson (175-91, college: Metro St.) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Four Un.Olimpija players scored in double figures. Bosnian-Serbian Adin Vrabac (204-94) replied with 17 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Stefan Bircevic (210-89) added 13 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Partizan. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Un.Olimpija maintains seventh position with 8-10 record. Partizan at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Un.Olimpija are looking forward to face higher ranked Cibona (#5) in Zagreb in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Partizan's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Beograd FMP.
