Very important is a road loss of third ranked Serbian Zvezda (1-1) against eighth ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (1-1) on Tuesday night. Visiting Zvezda was defeated by Buducnost in Podgorica 79-64. The hosts trailed by 7 points at the halftime before their 28-5 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Buducnost dominated on the defensive end, holding Zvezda to just 5 points in third quarter. Forward Nikola Vucevic (208-90, college: USC) had a double-double by scoring 16 points, 18 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and center Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: Beo Basket) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Montenegrin power forward Bojan Subotic (206-90) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and forward Bojan Radetic (203-88) scored 12 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Montenegrin champion left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams including defeated Zvezda. Buducnost will meet KK Zagreb CO (#12) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zvezda will play against Union Olimpija (#3) in Ljubljana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
