A very interesting game took place in Vrsac. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of bottom-ranked Croatian KK Zagreb CO (0-2) to tenth ranked Serbian Hemofarm (1-1) 80-77 on Tuesday evening. It looked good early as KK Zagreb CO took an 1-point lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hemofarm had a 23-19 second period charge getting the lead and KK Zagreb CO was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 77-80. Hemofarm made 18-of-21 charity shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Center Mladen Pantic (209-82, agency: Alti Sport) notched 17 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Marko Sutalo (194-83, agency: BeoExcell) supported him with 18 points. Hemofarm's coach Zeljko Lukajic allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Even 12 points, 6 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals by forward Krunoslav Simon (197-85) did not help to save the game for KK Zagreb CO. Center Mario Kasun (213-80) added 16 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Four KK Zagreb CO players scored in double figures. Hemofarm left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Defending Croatian champion KK Zagreb CO still closes the standings with two games lost. Hemofarm's next round opponent will be Helios (#11) in Domzale where they are favorite. KK Zagreb CO will play at home against Buducnost in Podgorica and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
