Regular Season Round 6: Buducnost - Krka 84-80
Date: November 5, 2011
No shocking result in a game in Podgorica where sixth ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (4-2) defeated 11th ranked Slovenian Krka (1-5) 84-80. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts were already 13 points ahead after 3 quarters before a 20-11 Krka's run in the last quarter cut the lead to 84-80 at the end of the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Krka helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Forward Nikola Vucevic (208-90, college: USC) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points and 20 rebounds to lead the effort and Canadian guard Jermaine Anderson (188-83, college: Fordham) supported him with 12 points. Four Buducnost players scored in double figures. Even 17 points and 8 rebounds by Jamaican center Jerome Jordan (213-86, college: Tulsa) did not help to save the game for Krka. Swingman Zoran Dragic (196-89) added 14 points. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Buducnost have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Montenegrin champion moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cibona. Defending Slovenian champion Krka keeps the eleventh position with five games lost. Buducnost's next round opponent will be league's second-placed Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv and it may be quite challenging game. Krka will play at home against the league's leader Union Olimpija (#1) in Ljubljana.
