Regular Season Round 6: Helios - Cedevita 62-87

Bottom-ranked Slovenian Helios (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 87-62 loss to third ranked Croatian Cedevita (5-1) in Domzale. The game was mostly controlled by Cedevita. Helios was better in third quarter 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cedevita dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Helios' 32 and made 21-of-25 charity shots (84.0 percent) during the game. Cedevita had a 29-18 advantage in offensive rebounds. Helios were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for American-Croatian guard Dontaye Draper (180-84, college: Charleston) who led his team to a victory with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American-Panamanian forward Levour Warren (196-81, college: S.Carolina, agency: SportsTalent) contributed with 15 points and 4 assists for the winners. Croatian power forward Drago Pasalic (208-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and Croatian forward Drazen Bubnic (207-86) added 9 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Helios. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cedevita have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 5-1 record behind leader Union Olimpija, which they share with Partizan. Helios at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. They share the position with Zlatorog. Cedevita will play against Radnicki K. (#12) in Kragujevac in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Helios will play at home against Zvezda in Beograd and hope to get finally their first victory.
