Regular Season Round 6: Partizan - Cibona 91-67
Date: November 6, 2011
The game in Beograd supposed to be also worth to mention about. One of their biggest challengers Croatian Cibona (4-2) played at the court of fifth ranked Serbian Partizan (5-1). Partizan smashed Cibona 91-67. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Cibona. The game without a history. Partizan led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 19-of-23 charity shots (82.6 percent) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Cibona helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) notched 12 points and 6 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Danilo Andjusic (197-91, agency: Beo Basket) supported him with 14 points. Even 11 points and 4 assists by American-Lebanese swingman Antwain Barbour (196-82, college: Kentucky, agency: Court Side) did not help to save the game for Cibona. American guard Brian Chase (178-81, college: Virginia Tech) added 16 points. Four Cibona players scored in double figures. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Defending Serbian champion moved-up to third place, which they share with Cedevita. Cibona at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Partizan's next round opponent will be HKK Siroki WWin (#8) in Siroki Brijeg where they are favorite. Cibona will play at home against Hemofarm in Vrsac and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
