Rather expected game when 11th ranked Slovenian Helios (1-7) were defeated on the road by eighth ranked Croatian KK Zagreb CO (4-4) 72-57 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by KK Zagreb CO. Helios was better in fourth quarter 16-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of center Mario Kasun (213-80) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) and American power forward Sean May (203-84, college: N.Carolina) who added 14 points during the contest. Croatian power forward Drago Pasalic (208-84) responded with 11 points and swingman Vjekoslav Petrovic (193-81) scored 7 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. KK Zagreb CO have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Croatian champion maintains eighth position with 4-4 record. Loser Helios dropped to the twelfth place with seven games lost. KK Zagreb CO will face Radnicki K. (#10) in Kragujevac in the next round. Helios will play at home against Zlatorog in Lasko and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
