Regular Season Round 13: Krka - Zlatorog 72-67

The most interesting game of round 13 was a derby match between two teams from Slovenia. The game took place in Novo Mesto where eleventh ranked Krka won against visiting Zlatorog (2-11) 72-67. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Zlatorog won third quarter 21-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Zoran Dragic (196-89) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Jure Balazic (204-80) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Four Krka players scored in double figures. Forward Jaka Brodnik (203-92) answered with 19 points and guard Danijel Vujasinovic (180-89) added 7 points and 9 assists in the effort for Zlatorog. Zlatorog's coach Ivan Sunara rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Defending Slovenian champion (4-9) moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Hemofarm. Zlatorog lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. Krka is looking forward to face league's leader Maccabi T-A in Tel-Aviv in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zlatorog will play on the road against the league's leader Maccabi T-A (#1) having rather not much hope for a victory.
