Regular Season Round 13: Vrsac - Maccabi T-A 59-85
Date: December 29, 2011
Very predictable result when second ranked Israeli Maccabi T-A (12-1) rolled over 10th ranked Serbian Hemofarm (4-9) in Vrsac 85-59 on Thursday. The guests trailed by 4 points at the halftime before their 52-22 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Maccabi T-A looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Quite impressive performance for American swingman Keith Langford (193-83, college: Kansas) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 6 rebounds. His fellow American import center Shawn James (208-83, college: Northeastern, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Montenegrin power forward Ivan Maras (208-86, agency: Beo Basket) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds and forward Boris Savovic (206-87) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Hemofarm. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending Israeli champion keeps a position of league leader. Hemofarm lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with nine games lost. Maccabi T-A will face bottom-ranked Zlatorog (#14) in Lasko in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Hemofarm will play at home against Zvezda (#13) in Beograd.
