Adriatic League top team - Israeli Maccabi T-A (14-1) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they crushed fourteenth ranked Slovenian Zlatorog (2-13) in Tel-Aviv 87-51. The game without a history. Maccabi T-A led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Zlatorog's 30. Maccabi T-A forced 22 Zlatorog turnovers. It was a great shooting night for Maccabi T-A especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Maccabi T-A made 10 blocks. American center Shawn James (208-83, college: Northeastern, agency: Z.A.G. - Law Offices) had a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 rebounds and 7 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and American-Israeli forward David Blu (201-80, college: USC) chipped in 16 points during the contest. Five Maccabi T-A players scored in double figures. Center Alen Omic (213-92) responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds and Slovenian guard Luka Lapornik (195-88) scored 9 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Maccabi T-A have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending Israeli champion maintains first position with 14-1 record. Zlatorog lost fifth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 13 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
