Regular Season Round 15: Crvena Zvezda - Buducnost 63-57

The game between third ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (10-5) and tenth ranked Serbian Zvezda (5-10) was the most important one in the last round on Tuesday night. Buducnost was defeated by Zvezda in a tough game in Beograd 57-63. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Buducnost. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 19-10. But Buducnost won second period 12-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American forward Omar Thomas (197-82, college: UTEP) who scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Power forward Sava Lesic (205-88) chipped in 13 points. At the other side the best for losing team was Canadian guard Jermaine Anderson (188-83, college: Fordham) who recorded 15 points and center Bojan Dubljevic (205-91, agency: Beo Basket) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Zvezda maintains tenth place with 5-10 record. Defending Montenegrin champion Buducnost dropped to the fourth position with five games lost. Zvezda are looking forward to face higher ranked Union Olimpija (#5) in Ljubljana in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Buducnost will play at home against KK Zagreb CO and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
