Regular Season Round 16: Zlatorog - Cedevita 64-83

Very predictable result when second ranked Croatian Cedevita (13-3) rolled over bottom-ranked Slovenian Zlatorog (2-14) in Lasko 83-64 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Cedevita. Zlatorog was better in second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Zlatorog was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for forward Vedran Vukusic (206-82, college: Northwestern) who helped to win the game recording 24 points and 6 rebounds (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field). Forward Miro Bilan (213-89) contributed with 17 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Cedevita players scored in double figures. Croatian power forward Jure Skific (202-88) replied with 14 points and 5 rebounds and Slovenian guard Luka Lapornik (195-88) added 10 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Zlatorog. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cedevita maintains second position with 13-3 record having just two points less than leader Maccabi T-A. Zlatorog lost sixth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 14 games lost. Cedevita will face Zvezda (#10) in Beograd in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Zlatorog will play on the road against Cibona (#9) in Zagreb.
