Croatian KK Zagreb CO (#8) forced the game against Slovenian Union Olimpija (#5) into an overtime, but lost by four points 74-78 on Sunday night. The game took place in Zagreb. But the guests from Ljubljana were better at the end. The guests trailed by 13 points after three quarters before their 22-9 charge, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time and get a 4-point victory in overtime. Union Olimpija forced 28 KK Zagreb CO turnovers. Strangely KK Zagreb CO outrebounded Union Olimpija 40-19 including a 28-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for Montenegrin forward Vladimir Dasic (206-88, agency: Beo Basket) who led his team to a victory with 21 points and 6 rebounds. Finnish point guard Sasu Salin (190-91) contributed with 14 points and 4 assists for the winners. Center Mario Kasun (213-80) replied with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 15 rebounds and American forward Sean May (206-84, college: N.Carolina) added 12 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for KK Zagreb CO. Union Olimpija maintains fifth position with 11-7 record. Defending Croatian champion KK Zagreb CO keeps the eighth place with nine games lost. Union Olimpija will face Radnicki K. (#6) in Kragujevac in the next round. KK Zagreb CO will play at home against Zvezda in Beograd and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
