Regular Season Round 21: Siroki WWin - Zlatorog 72-64

Very expected game in Siroki Brijeg where 14th ranked Slovenian Zlatorog (2-19) was defeated by fifth ranked Bosnian HKK Siroki WWin (12-9) 72-64 on Friday. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Zlatorog won third quarter 23-21. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Zlatorog 37-26 including 28 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was Croatian point guard Jakov Vladovic (186-83) who scored 16 points and 4 assists. American forward Coleman Collins (206-86, college: Virginia Tech, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 11 points and 8 rebounds. Five HKK Siroki WWin players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Alen Omic (213-92) who recorded 20 points and 9 rebounds and Slovenian guard Luka Lapornik (195-88) added 16 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Defending Bosnian champion maintains fifth place with 12-9 record. Zlatorog lost eleventh consecutive game. They stay dead last with 19 lost games. HKK Siroki WWin will face higher ranked Buducnost (#4) in Podgorica in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Zlatorog will play at home against Helios (#13) in Domzale and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
