Croatian Cibona (#6) forced the game against Serbian Partizan (#4) into an overtime, but lost by six points 77-83 on Saturday night. The game took place in Zagreb. But the guests from Beograd were better at the end. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Cibona. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 23-20 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 15-9. Cibona was plagued by 32 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was center Milan Macvan (206-89, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. Swingman Marko Cakarevic (200-88, agency: INVICTUS Sports Group) chipped in 8 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Bosnian-Croatian center Goran Suton (209-85, college: Michigan St.) who recorded 9 points and 7 rebounds and American-Lebanese swingman Antwain Barbour (196-82, college: Kentucky, agency: Court Side) added 11 points respectively. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Partizan have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending Serbian champion (15-6) moved-up to third place. Cibona at the other side keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Partizan will face Hemofarm (#11) in Vrsac in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Cibona will play on the road against Union Olimpija (#8) in Ljubljana and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
