Regular Season Round 23: Radnicki KG - Helios 72-77

There was a small surprise in Kragujevac where eleventh ranked Slovenian Helios (7-16) defeated 8th ranked Serbian Radnicki K. (11-12) 77-72 on Tuesday. The guests trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 12-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 77-72. Strangely Radnicki K. outrebounded Helios 51-30 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for Croatian power forward Drago Pasalic (208-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Klemen Prepelic (191-92) helped adding 17 points and 4 assists. American center David Simon (207-82, college: IPFW) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Stefan Bircevic (209-89) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points and 17 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Radnicki K.'s coach Miroslav Nikolic rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Helios maintains eleventh place with 7-16 record. Loser Radnicki K. keeps the eighth position with 12 games lost. Helios will face Krka (#13) in Novo Mesto in the next round.
