There was no surprise in Podgorica where 12th ranked Serbian Hemofarm (6-18) was crushed by fourth ranked Montenegrin Buducnost (16-7) 84-65 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 84-65. Hemofarm was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was Serbian forward Cedomir Vitkovac (201-82, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Marko Popovic (200-85) chipped in 16 points. Four Buducnost players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mladen Jeremic (196-88, agency: Interperformances) who recorded 13 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and center Djordje Gagic (210-90, agency: Interperformances) added 15 points respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending Montenegrin champion maintains fourth position with 16-7 record. Loser Hemofarm dropped to the thirteenth place with 18 games lost. Buducnost will face bottom-ranked Zlatorog (#14) in Lasko in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Hemofarm will play at home against Union Olimpija in Ljubljana.
