Regular Season Round 24: Un.Olimpija - Partizan 70-57

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Serbian Partizan (17-7) against sixth ranked Slovenian Union Olimpija (13-11) on Sunday night. Visiting Partizan was defeated by Union Olimpija in Ljubljana 70-57. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Partizan. The game was mostly controlled by Union Olimpija. Partizan managed to win fourth quarter 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Partizan 36-22 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Deon Thompson (203-88, college: N.Carolina) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 7 rebounds and Montenegrin guard Goran Jeretin (192-79, agency: Beo Basket) who added 15 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American point guard Dominic James (180-86, college: Marquette) with 16 points and center Miroslav Raduljica (213-88) scored 11 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Union Olimpija maintains sixth position with 13-11 record. Defending Serbian champion Partizan keeps the third place with seven games lost. Union Olimpija will meet Hemofarm (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Partizan will play against the league's second-placed Cedevita (#2) in Zagreb and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
